Authorized Users

Here are guides for referees to in Area 1-P regions to sign up to be a referee in Area 1-P competitions, including the Upper Division regular season and the lower division League Champions and All Star playoffs.  The system is maintained on the Region 76 site but is available for all Area referees.

Here’s how the new system works (summary version for those of you who don’t like documentation):

  1. Visit https://www.ayso76.net and click on Register as New User, where you will establish your username and password.  (You may already be in the system, in which case you can get your password emailed to you.)
  2. Once you have your password and username, visit https://www.ayso76.net to log-in. NOTE:  Be careful if you type this address – it’s https://www.ayso76.net
  3. Set up your profile by clicking on the "My Information" link and then on the "Referee" tab at the top of the page.
  4. Click on the "Scheduling and Credits" link on the left side of your screen (under the heading "Referees").  Click on the "self-scheduler" link.
  5. Select the date from the drop down box and click the "View Dates" button.
  6. Sign up for as many games as you want by clicking on the radio buttons for each assignment you want. There won’t be radio buttons for games that are already assigned.
  7. When you are done, click the "Submit Assignment Requests" button.  Your requests will show up as pending, until they are approved by a referee scheduler, usually the same day.
  8. Review the status of the schedule anytime by visiting http://www.ayso76.net/refschedule/
  9. As always, if you get stuck, read the fine instructions below or email refschedulers@ayso76.org  and we’ll help you out.

For those of you who like the details, here’s the detailed version of how the system works:

  1. Establish your username and password:
    1. Visit https://www.ayso76.net/new-user.cfm
    2. Type your email address in the form field.  This is your username.
    3. If this email address is not already registered in our system, you will be taken to the New User Contact Information form.  Fill out the required information, including your password, on the form and click the "create user" button.
    4. If this email address is already registered in our system, you can ask to have the password emailed to you. (However, if the email is sharing it with another family member who is registered), please send an email to referee@ayso76.org.  The Referee Administrator will have to set up your username.
    5. Congratulations! You have your userid and password.
    6. Click on the "proceed to AYSO-Online" link

  2. Log-in with your username and password:
    1. Visit https://www.ayso76.net to log-in.
    2. NOTE:  Be careful if you type this address – it’s https://www.ayso76.net
    3. Type your email address into the "Username or Email:" form field and your password into the "Password" form field on the log-in screen.  Press the "Enter" key or click on the "Log In" icon.  This will load the AYSO On-Line Welcome Page.  Congratulations, now you can actually do something!
  1. Complete your Volunteer profile (you only need to do this once, but you can make changes at any time):

a.   Log in (visit https://www.ayso76.net) if you haven’t already

b.   Click on the "My Information" link located in the orange rectangular navigation box on the left of your screen (it’s under the heading User Management).  Wait for the User Information form to load.  Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, this may take up to 30 seconds.

d.   Review the information on this page.  You may make changes to any field except the "Primary email address" field.  In particular, please note that you may add up to two additional email addresses.  The game scheduling application will send automated confirmations to all addresses listed here. If you make any changes, please remember to click the "Update Contact Information" button near the bottom of the page.  If an email alias (yourfirstname.yourlastname@ayso1p.org) is displayed in the "Primary email address" field, you will find your actual email address displayed in the "2nd email address" field.  Please do not delete this entry or you won’t receive your automatic notifications.  You may add a third email address to receive notifications at another email address.

e.  Click on the "Referee Information" tab at the top of the page.  Check the box that says "I would like to volunteer as a referee for AYSO".  Then click on the "update referee information" button.  Modify any of the information on the form. If you just completed the Basic Referee course, you should select "Regional" referee as your certification level.  Please note that the Highest Division setting controls which games on the schedule you can see.  If you select U10, you will only be able to sign up for U10 games.  Select and highlight your home region from the select list.  Please scroll to the bottom of the page.  If you wish (and are in Region 76), you may enter your child’s last name and birth date so that we automatically link your Volunteer record to your child’s record.  After you add this information, press the "Update Referee Information" button.  Your child’s information will be automatically displayed. You will still need to allocate your Volunteer Points to your child’s team as you earn them, but completing this step now will make it easier for you later.  If you have multiple children, you may add them one at a time.

f.   When you are finished, click on the "update referee information" button.  You’re now ready to request referee assignments.

  1. If you have difficulties with your password:
    1. Visit https://www.ayso76.net
    2. Type your email address into the "Username or Email:" form field on the log-in screen.  If you received these instructions via email, be sure you use the email address at the top of the email, since this address is your login email address.   If you received an email addressed to you, using an email address in the form yourfirstname.yourlastname@ayso76.org (for example john.smith@ayso76.org), this is not a mistake.  It means that your email address is already in use by another family member so we’ve assigned you an email alias.  Use this alias as your login email address.  Don’t worry; your email will get delivered to the correct email address.
    3. Click the link that says "Forgot your password?"  This will load a new form.
    4. Type your email address, first name and last name into the form fields on this form.
    5. Click the "email password" button.
    6. Wait about 60 seconds and then go check your email at the email address you entered.  You should have an email with your assigned password in your inbox.
    7. If you don’t receive your password via email, please check to make sure that you typed your email address and name correctly. If that still doesn’t work, send me an email at referee@ayso76.org and I’ll help you figure out what’s wrong.
  1. Request Referee Assignments (this is what you’ll do most often):
    1. Visit https://www.ayso76.net
    2. Type your email address into the "Username or Email:" form field and your password into the "Password" form field on the log-in screen.  Press the "Enter" key or click on the "Log In" icon.  This will load the AYSO On-Line Welcome Page.
    3. Click on the "Scheduling and Credits" link located in the orange rectangular navigation box on the left of your screen (it’s under the heading Referees).
    4. Click on the "Referee Self Scheduler" link.  This opens the Referee Assignment Requests Page.  The date will automatically show the current weekend’s games, but you may request assignments for future weeks by selecting another date from the drop down box and clicking on the "View Dates" button.  We are now accepting assignment requests through the end of November.
    5. For each game assignment on the schedule (there is a CR, AR, AR and mentor assignment available for each game), you will see one of the following:

i.    A blank assignment column with a white background and an unset radio button.  This means that the assignment is open and you may request it by clicking on the radio button.

ii.    An assignment column with a yellow background and person’s name followed by the word "Assigned" in parentheses.  This means that the assignment is filled and you may not request it.

iii. An assignment column with a grey background, an unset radio button and the word "Standby" in parentheses.  This means that someone has requested this assignment already, but it has not yet been confirmed by the scheduler.  You may request it also by clicking on the radio button, but keep in mind that we fill assignments in the order we receive them from qualified volunteers.

    1. Choose the assignment(s) you want by clicking on the radio button(s) underneath the assignment column heading for the game(s) you are interested in.  When you are finished, click on the "Submit Assignment Requests" button near the bottom of the form.  You will receive a message saying that your assignment requests were submitted. Please note that your name now appears on the schedule with a status of "pending" or "standby" for the assignment requests you submitted.  A referee scheduler will review your request (usually the same day).  When your request is approved, you will notice the status change from "pending" to "assigned" and you will receive an email confirming your assignment.
    2. If you need to delete your assignment request, click the radio button under the "Unassigned" column on the form (right most).  You can only delete a request, not an approved assignment.  If you need to change an approved assignment, please email refschedulers@ayso76.org with your request.
    3. Please remember that assignment requests are submitted in real time so it is possible that someone else can select an assignment you’d like if you wait too long.
    4. Review the status of the schedule anytime by visiting http://www.ayso76.net/refschedule/
    5. As always, if you get stuck, read the fine instructions again or email refschedulers@ayso76.org and we’ll help you out.
    6. Please remember that we like to share CR assignments, so please request at least an equal number of AR assignments also.  Otherwise, the scheduler will make AR assignments for you.

Remember that in case of doubt, what’s posted on the website is correct.  If you have any questions, please send an email to referee@ayso1p.org.

Start requesting those assignments.  Operators are standing by….
